Canacona: Minister for art and culture Govind Gaude and Canacona MLA and state assembly speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, separately, gave two different dates for completion of the ongoing work of the Canacona Ravindra Bhavan on Wednesday.
After paying homage to United Tribals Associations Alliance (UTAA) martyr Mangesh Gaonkar at Ziltawadi in Gaondongrim, Gaude headed to the Ravindra Bhavan site at Chaudi to inspect the construction work. Inspecting the pace of the work, he said the work will be completed by August this year. He also instructed officials of the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) to complete the work by August.
After the art and culture minister left the site, Tawadkar reached the spot for inspection and said that the work will be completed between September and October this year.
Earlier this month, GSIDC had said that the bhavan will be ready by December 2023. The project was scheduled for completion in 2019, the foundation stone for which was laid in 2012.
The work had begun in 2017.
