Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet decided to grant Rs One lakh per month as an honorarium for former Congress leader K V Thomas, who is now the special representative for the state government in New Delhi.
In addition, the cabinet also cleared the appointment of two assistants, one office attendant and one driver for his office. Since he is being paid an honorarium instead of a salary, there will not be any hurdle in him drawing his pensions as a former member of parliament. In addition to K V Thomas, the government has also appointed retired IFS officer Venu Rajamony as the officer on special duty in New Delhi. He is holding the post in the rank of chief secretary.TNN
