TIRUPATI: Seven different committees will be formed to conduct a security audit at the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara and submit their reports to the
Andhra Pradesh government within a fortnight.
State principal secretary (Home) Harish Kumar Gupta held inspections and reviewed the existing security setup on the hill town on Wednesday.
He was accompanied by Anantapur range DIG Ammi Reddy, Tirupati SP P Parameswara Reddy and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams's (TTD) chief vigilance and security officer D Narasimha Kishore during the inspections.
The high-level committee proposed to introduce body scanners to ensure foolproof frisking of the visiting devotees.
The committee also proposed to the TTD to deploy anti-drone technology on the hill town.
The security experts also proposed to introduce Artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled technologies and integrate them to the centralised command control centre.
It was also proposed to the committee to devise plans in such a manner that they are in sync with the Agama shastras and the proposed plans do not violate the religious dikkat in any manner.
