iQOO Neo 8

Vivo’s spin-off brand iQoo has expanded its product portfolio in the China market. The Chinese smartphone maker has launched the iQoo Neo 8 series in its domestic market. Earlier, the company confirmed the launch date of the latest lineup which includes the iQoo Neo8 and Neo8 Pro smartphones. These smartphones succeed the iQoo Neo 7 series which arrived in India in February.

The vanilla iQoo smartphone comes in two RAM variants (12GB and 16GB) and two storage variants (256GB and 512 GB). Meanwhile, the Pro variant has a single 16GB RAM configuration and two storage options, 256 GB and 512 GB. The smartphone series is currently China-exclusive. The company has not shared any details about the iQoo Neo 8 lineup being available in markets outside China.

iQoo Neo 8 series: Price and availability
Both smartphones are available in three different colour combinations -- Orange with a leather finish, Blue with an enamel glass finish and the Black variant with a crystal glass finish.

The base variant of the iQoo Neo 8 starts at 2499 yuan (nearly Rs 29,300) while the base variant of the Pro model carries a price tag of 3299 yuan (nearly Rs 38,700).

Both smartphones are now available for pre-order in China. These phones will go on sale in China on May 31. The company is also offering 200 yuan (nearly Rs 2,300) discount on the models as a part of the launch offer.

iQoo Neo 8 series: Key specs
The latest iQoo Neo 8 series smartphones sport a 6.78-inch display that supports 1.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and. Display of these smartphones also has SGS low blue light certification along with supports a peak brightness of 1300 nits and dual pressure sensitivity.

iQoo Neo 8 comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform, while the Pro variant features the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset. Under the hood, these smartphones also pack Vivo’s V1+ chipset. This chipset claims to reduce power consumption by 14.2% in games. These chipsets are backed with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

For cooling, the company claims that these new smartphones come with a 5002mm² large-area VC vapour chamber which is 125% bigger than the one available in Neo 7 smartphones. These phones even have standard graphite three-dimensional heat dissipation. Apart from this, Neo 8 series smartphones are also equipped with 9 temperature sensors to monitor temperature change in real-time.

For optics, the Neo 8 Pro has a dual camera setup that includes a Sony IMX866 VCS sensor that supports OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide unit. Meanwhile, the vanilla variant has a 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor along with a 2MP depth sensor. Both smartphones house a 16MP front snapper for selfies and video calls.

Moreover, these phones also pack a 5000mAh dual-cell battery that supports 120W fast charging. iQoo claims that these phones will charge 50% within 9 minutes.
