Union Minister Jitendra Singh on May 24 slammed the Opposition on their decision to boycott the inauguration of the new Parliament House. While speaking to ANI, Jitendra Singh said that the opposition is trying to raise a baseless debate. “This is being done by the opposition to raise a baseless debate. It is also not that such inaugurations were not done by their Prime Ministers during their regime,” said Jitendra Singh. While talking about the G20 meeting being held in Srinagar, the Union Minister said, “Yesterday, a meeting of tourism people was held in Srinagar. The meeting went off very well. Out of the 40 meetings that have been held across the country so far, Srinagar program was the most enthusiastic.”Earlier in the day, 19 opposition parties including Congress have decided to boycott the inauguration of the new Parliament Building, saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to inaugurate the building without President Droupadi Murmu “insults the high office of the President, and violates the letter and spirit of the Constitution”.
