Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gets wild gameplay trailer, but no release date

Insomniac Games showed off a new gameplay trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 during Sony’s May 2023 PlayStation Showcase. The action-packed clip showed off its villain, the iconic Kraven the Hunter, but it didn’t give the game a release date. It’s still only scheduled for fall 2023.

The new trailer gave us our closest glimpse at Sony’s upcoming release we’ve seen yet. It begins with a very cinematic clip showing off classic Spider-Man villain Kraven the Hunter. From there, we flash-forward a bit to New York City, where we see Peter Parker and Miles Morales working together to save the city. Parker has a fancy new black suit with a lot of wild powers. In the trailer, we see multiple black spider arms coming out of it and slamming enemies.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 | Gameplay Reveal

The Miles Morales part of the trailer shows the hero stealthily taking down enemies in the city. The two heroes eventually meet up and chase down The Lizard in an exciting sequence that shows Morales chasing boats around the East River. Kraven shows up eventually to crash the party, leading to an exciting showdown.

Insomniac Games confirmed earlier this week that the game will be a purely single-player experience and won’t feature any co-op, despite some speculation that it would because Peter Parker and Miles Morales are both present. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is joining the busy fall 2023 lineup of video game releases that includes games such as Starfield and Mortal Kombat 1.

For those who want to get caught up on the story, both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales are available to play on PC, PlayStation 4, and PS5.

Release date

Hades 2 has no release date quite yet. However, the team has apparently been working on it since early 2021, and, just like the first, will come out first in early access. Supergiant has stated that details about this early access period would be revealed in 2023, however, that does not guarantee it will actually begin in 2023. The first Hades was in early access for almost two years, but we know that a slightly bigger team is working on Hades 2 from the start so this game may hit 1.0 a bit faster.

As of the time of this writing, Cities: Skylines 2 doesn't have a specific release date and is only slated to come sometime in 2023.

Death Stranding 2: release date speculation, trailers, gameplay, and more

There were plenty of hints along the way, and even some leaks by the leading man himself, but it was only made official at the Game Awards 2022 that Death Stranding 2 is on its way. Coming from the same influential and creative mind as the original, as well as the Metal Gear franchise before it, Hideo Kojima introduced the game himself. Of course, nothing about Kojima's games are straight forward, and what was revealed about Death Stranding 2 probably raised more questions than it answered. We're strapping on our boots, connecting to our BBs, and are ready to make the trek to find out everything there is about Death Stranding 2.
Release date

The trailer didn't give us a release date for Death Stranding 2, and in fact, even pointed out that this was just the game's working title and would likely change. That leads us to believe that 2023 is probably too soon to expect it, but 2024 certainly feels possible.
