TRICHY: Alwars Acharyas Vaishnava Centre, a unit of Arulmigu Ranganathaswamy temple in Srirangam, has invited applications for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Vaishnavism and Sri Bhashyam.
The courses will be offered in collaboration with Alagappa University, Karaikudi. Classes would be conducted at the Yatri Nivas complex in Srirangam by guest lectures.
The temple management said the Vaishnava Research Centre will provide bachelor of arts (BA) and a master of arts (MA) programmes on Vaishnavism with a duration of three and two years respectively. Another MA programme on Sri Bhashyam will also be provided by the centre.
A pass in Class XII or a three-year diploma is eligible to join the undergraduate programme. For the two postgraduate courses, the candidate should have an undergraduate degree.
The maximum intake for each programme is 100 per batch. So far, two batches have completed the programmes ever since the research institute was launched in 2017 to commemorate the 1,000th birth anniversary of Vaishnavite saint Sri Ramanujacharya.
The research centre said the fee for the three programmes was fixed at Rs 5,000 per semester. The centre said the fee structure was revised as previously a fee of Rs 10,000 was collected from each student per semester.
