Robbers open fire at man, molest his girlfriend

Nagpur: A man sustained a bullet injury on his left leg while trying to fight back armed robbers at a desolate place near the crematorium at Nanda Koradi village on Monday. While one of the robbers pinned the victim, Pravin Bonde, down, another misbehaved with his girlfriend.
Police said that Bonde and his girlfriend had gone for a dinner at a restaurant at Dahegaon on Saoner Road. The couple had met at Poonam Chambers before proceeding to the eatery on an electric scooter.
It’s learnt, Bonde and his girlfriend had stopped at a desolate place near Nanda Koradi and parked the two-wheeler in the vicinity.
The three robbers reached the place on their scooter and started misbehaving with the woman who, it is learnt, is a sportsperson.
As the couple started fighting off the robbers, one of them brandished a firearm and shot in the direction of Bonde. The bullet hit Bonde under the left knee.
When the robbers started fleeing, Bonde’s girlfriend hurled a stone at them. One of the robbers was injured.
Bonde and his girlfriend first reached Koradi police station from where they were referred to Khaparkheda PS to lodge a complaint.
