TRICHY: S M Ramanathan has assumed office as the general manager-in-charge and head of Bhel Trichy complex comprising the high-pressure boiler plant and seamless steel tube plant at Trichy, power plant piping unit at Thirumayam and industrial valves plant at Goindwal, Punjab.
Ramanathan, 56, is a graduate of mechanical engineering from IIT-Madras and has a master’s degree in stress and vibration analysis from the National Institute of Technology (formerly Regional Engineering College), Bhopal.
In a press release, Bhel said Ramanathan has 35 years of experience in various functions at Bhel’s Heavy Electricals Plant (HEP) at Bhopal, Boiler Auxiliaries Plant (BAP), Ranipet, and at Bhel Trichy complex. He joined Bhel Trichy as a graduate engineer trainee in 1988 and was posted to HEP, Bhopal, where he was involved in the design and development of hydro turbines.
Ramanathan was functioning as general manager-in-charge of operations at Bhel, Trichy. He succeeds S V Srinivasan, executive director, who retired on superannuation on Wednesday.
