Young couple from Palamu die by suicide

Daltonganj: A 20-year-old boy and an 18-year-old girl, who were said to be in love, died together by hanging themselves from the same rope inside the boy’s house located at Kerki village under the Chhaterpur police station limits in Palamu district, police said. The bodies were found on Tuesday, they added.
The deceased were identified as Nagender Bhuiyan and Sona Kali Kumari, both hailing from the Bhuiyan community, police said.
Chhaterpur sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Ajay Kumar said, “The duo were found hanging together from a single rope. The girl was a school dropout after completing Class VIII, while the boy worked as a migrant labourer.”
Police sources said the two were in love for long, but the girl’s parents had fixed her marriage with another boy and was to be solemnised soon.
“Hence, both decided to end their lives. We have registered a case of unnatural death and further probe is on,” added another cop.
