On the radio recently I heard about a gun “buyback” program that will pay anyone $100 for turning in a gun. All the organizers, financial backers and promoters of this program should be arrested, fined and jailed.

No gangster or other dangerous felon will deliver a gun for a mere $100. No good citizen will go to the trouble and expense of getting a gun and then effectively selling it for only $100. But youngsters who can find a gun in a relative’s home will be tempted to steal it to get the $100 reward.

Thus, the people running the buyback are really in a conspiracy to encourage young people to steal guns from their older relatives, friends and neighbors. They seem to want every home searched with the aim of seizing guns, but they can’t do that. Instead, they recruit youngsters to steal guns from good citizens.

That is why every person helping with any gun buyback program — including police officers and any elected or non-elected officials — should be held legally accountable, as they are conspiring to encourage youngsters to commit crimes.
