Life is full of uncertainties, which are growing by the day. Stress, fear and panic is gripping everyone. Unnatural and premature deaths are on the rise. Add this to the corrosion of faith between humans. This is certainly not the life that anybody wants.
Vaibhavi Upadhyaya (in her mid-30s) who passed away yesterday in a road accident is very much fresh in the memory of any and every true viewer of TV. "Vaibhavi's excellent acting abilities cannot be forgotten. I am still hoping that I got the wrong news last night and this was a bad dream. Why is destiny so cruel?" says producer JD Majethia, talking to ETimes TV this morning.

Majethia says that he was in touch with Vaibhavi and it was only for his recent Mt Everest expedition that he hadn't spoken to her for about a month. "I wanted to cast her in my on-going 'Happy Family'. I wanted to make a new show with her. Alas! It's all over now. Meri chai bhi reh gayi. She and her brother had opened something very nice that sold great tea. I had promised her that we'll have tea at that place," he said.
Meanwhile, the TV industry is reeling with shock after shock. Three deaths in three days- Aditya Singh Rajput ('Splitsvilla', 'Krantiveer') and Vaibhavi Upadhyaya and the most recent one being Nitesh Pandey who played Shah Rukh Khan's assistant in 'Om Shanti Om' and essayed as Dheeraj Kumar in 'Anupamaa'. Read that report below:

Coming back to Majethia, he reminisces that Vaibhavi came in as a late addition in 'Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai', produced by Aatish Kapadia and him, under the banner Hats Off Productions. "But Aatish and I were sure that she'll be able to match up with the seasoned actors we had, and mind you, they- Ratna Pathak Shah, Rupali Ganguly, Aatish Kapadia, Satish Shah, Sumeet Raghavan, Rajesh Kumar, Deven Bhojani- were all scene-stealers. I cannot forget the first time that I and very few members of 'Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai' had an informal get-together and we had forgotten to invite her. We were suddenly surprised that Vaibhavi put up our get-together picture on her social media handle. I called her and apologised that I hadn't invited her. After that, she was a regular in our midst; she was family to me. Before 'Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai', we had auditioned her for 'Machli Ghar' and she was one of the top two contenders for the main role but that show did not happen. I knew her well since 2013 after my interaction with her in 'Machli Ghar', but yes, I knew her from her theatre days as well."
Going back to last night when he received the tragic news, Majethia said that an actress called him at midnight and when she said if he had heard something about Vaibhavi, he could sense that he was about to hear some terrible news. Soon, Majethia reached out to check if it was true and his worst fears came true. "Vaibhavi was always high on life. She used to tell me to remake 'Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai' and wanted to be a part of that. So many things that we spoke about have all gone up in smoke."
Vaibhav considered Majethia as not just her friend but also her guide. "She asked me a few months back if she could do a particular web series. I told her that if everything about it was good, she should definitely do it. She was a lava of talent, who hadn't got her due," Majethia further said.
"Vaibhavi was engaged. Her roka had happened. I don't know the details, so please don't go by this: But I think her fiance was driving the car that met with a mishap yesterday afternoon. She was sitting beside him," Majethia signed off.
We, at ETimes TV, stand by Vaibhavi, her fiance and their family in their hour of crisis.
