Celtics 116-99 Heat Highlights, Game 4: Tatum shines as Boston forces fifth game against Miami

Boston Celtics forces a fifth game. The Boston players had said they’ll fight till the very end and they held their word. Tatum rose to the occasion and scored 34 points as his team not only overturned a six-point half time deficit but also handed a first loss to the Heat at their home in these Playoffs.

Much like the third game, it was the three point shooting that made the difference. Only this time, it was the Celtics who were better.

Some thinking for Erik Spoelstra and his team. They were up and looked like closing the series out. The Heat stopped contesting second balls and erred in their shots and lost the grip on the match.

And just like that the game has exploded. Celtics with seven made threes in that quarter to outscore the Heat by 15 points in that period. Tatum was the main man for the Celtics there and has his tally at 22 points now.

Spoelstra’s side has not had a great time from the three point line this game but they’ve made up for that with a 52% overall efficiency. Butler has been mostly quite but Martin, Vincent and Adebayo have reached double digits.

For the Celtics, the stars finally seem aligned from the three point range. They’ve made nine off 25 till now. They’ve also contested well on rebounds. Yet they find a deficit to cover up in the second half.

Tatum collided with Love after that shot and the referees want to check that for a hostile act.

Miami wins the opening period and takes a six point lead. It has again been a case of one team shooting better. Boston, though, has shown signs of defending well. The offensive fluency has also been better. Encouraging signs for coach Mazzulla but work remains to be done.
