2 die, 5 injured after truck hits an auto in Ghatampur

Kanpur: Two persons, including a 16-year-old minor girl, were killed and five others injured after an auto in which they were travelling was hit by a truck in Ghatampur area of the district on Tuesday morning.
The accident took place near Ahirwan petrol pump, causing a massive traffic jam. The auto was completely crushed due to the impact of the collision.
On getting information about the mishap, police reached the spot and sent dead bodies of both the deceased for the post-mortem examination. The injured have been admitted to Lala Lajpat Rai hospital.
Auto driver Manoj (25), said that as soon as the auto reached near Paras Nala on Mughal Road, two trucks collided while trying to overtake. After that his auto was also hit by one of the trucks. Subsequently, his auto fell into the roadside ditch due to its impact, he said.
Two passengers, including a minor girl travelling in the auto, died on the spot. The police identified the deceased minor girl as Salni of Asha Nagar ward. The identity of the other person could not be ascertained. Five people, including the auto driver, were seriously injured in the accident.tnn
