Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:19AM

DCM Shriram Industries(up 2.38%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 1.12%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 0.81%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 0.66%), Bannari Amman Sugars(up 0.59%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 0.56%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 0.55%), K.M.Sugar Mills(up 0.55%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.53%) and Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.40%) were among the top gainers.

Rana Sugars(down 1.11%), Sakthi Sugars(down 0.47%), Simbhaoli Sugars(down 0.43%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 0.37%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 0.23%), AVADHSUGAR(down 0.23%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(down 0.17%) and Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(down 0.11%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 68.4 points up at 18382.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 179.95 points at 62143.63 at around 10:19AM.

Adani Enterprises(up 11.95%), Divis Laboratories(up 3.27%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.78%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 2.13%), Wipro(up 1.48%), Tata Motors(up 1.05%), Infosys(up 1.02%), Britannia Industries(up 1.02%), UPL Ltd(up 0.95%) and Hindalco Industries(up 0.94%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Grasim Industries(down 1.25%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.72%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.58%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.53%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.51%), Larsen & Toubro(down 0.4%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.31%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.29%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.26%) and Axis Bank(down 0.15%) were trading in the red.
