Dipali dives into work 2 days after taking oath as Jharsuguda MLA
JHARSUGUDA: Newly elected Jharsuguda MLA Dipali Das has wasted no time in starting work in her constituency after taking oath. The 26-year-old has been diligently attending numerous meetings daily and traversing every corner of her constituency.
Dipali headed her inaugural official meeting in Jharsuguda Municipality on May 17, just two days after she took oath as a legislator.
“For the first time, I have reviewed works of Jharsuguda Municipality. My first priority is to review the various development works in the municipality area, including projects which are halfway through. There will be a focus on sanitation and streetlights,” she said.
The meeting was attended by officials of the municipality and councillors where different ongoing projects were discussed. Dipali emphasised the need for swift progress of work, urging early completion of ongoing projects that were halfway through.
The MBA graduate also held a review meeting in Laikera block office in Jharsuguda on May 20. She has been actively attending various social programmes such as blood donation camps, self-defence classes and kirtans (devotional gatherings) and meeting people on the ground, assuring to help them in the best possible way.
“On her return to Jharsuguda after taking oath, she has been actively conducting review meetings of various developmental projects in the municipality area as well as the block level. However, we hope that Dipali will surely try to expedite all the pending works for the benefit of the people of Jharsuguda,” said Hiralal Lokchandani, president, Jharsuguda chamber of commerce.
Dipali had started accompanying her father, slain minister Naba Kisore Das to political gatherings in 2019. Last year, she actively campaigned for the BJD in Brajarajnagar byelection, in which Alaka Mohanty of the regional party got elected. She had also campaigned for BJD’s Barsha Singh Bariha in the Padampur bypoll last year before she contested from Jharsuguda after her father’s death.
