Zoo driver sacked for rash driving
Rajkot: A contractual driver of an electric car was terminated and an inquiry was ordered after seven tourists got injured because of his rash driving in Junagadh’s Sakkarbaug Zoo on Sunday.
Aradhana Sahu, chief conservator of forest (wildlife circle), said “After the visiting hours, an electric car with a security guard makes a round inside to check if there are any tourists left.
They were returning with seven tourists who received minor injuries due to his rash driving. The driver also broke a barricade.”
“I have dismissed him and asked the assistant conservator of forest to conduct an inquiry into the incident,” she said.
Sakkarbaug Zoo is the biggest in Gujarat and a breeding centre for Asiatic lions and other wild animals.
