KALYAN: A man who allegedly embraced a woman commuter on the pedestrian bridge of Kalyan railway station on Monday morning was assaulted by people and later arrested.
The man, Santosh Sharma, sprang a surprise on the 25-year-old woman, by hugging her. Scandalised, she screamed for help and passsers-by nabbed the man and beat him up, injuring him, the railway police said, adding that the accused escaped, but was later arrested and admitted to hospital.
Senior police inspector Mukesh Dhage formed four teams which nabbed him.
MNS workers visited Kalyanstation and accused the station manager of failure to control miscreants, and hawkers, on station premises. The political party workers allegedly manhandled hawkers at the station. -
