Nurtaza’s wife told responding officers that he hit her in the face several times in their Gravesend apartment building at about 1:30 a.m., leaving her bruised and swollen, according to a criminal complaint.

Nurtaza, who’s assigned to Transit District 34 in Coney Island, joined the NYPD in 2015. He has been suspended without pay, according to an NYPD spokesman.
