True religion is to perform civic duties: CM

MAHARAJGANJ: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath, while addressing an event at Guru Gorakhnath Temple at Chowk Bazar in Maharajganj said that the true religion is to perform the civic duties with the feeling of public welfare. "If we all do our duties honestly, India will become the biggest power of the world soon," he said.
The CM mentioned Lanka 'gaman' (tour) of Lord Hanuman. He also told the people about the essence of Sanatan dharma and religion. The Sanatan tradition of India talks of the welfare of mankind.
Sanatan dharma has existed and maintained its dominance while many religions came and vanished. Only performing puja is not religion but getting associated with our responsibilities is religion,” said the CM.
On development work and road connectivity in Maharajganj, the CM said that if the government has done any work of development it becomes the responsibility of people to conserve and safeguard the religion.
He also said that the government does not pay from its pocket but spends the money of people for development while providing free ration and scholarships to the children of SC/ST and OBC category, uniform to the children of primary schools and also arranges funds for community marriages and other welfare programmes.
The CM said cleanliness played a major role in controlling encephalitis in the region. He said that there is full possibility of Adarsh Nagar Panchayat at Chowk Bazar. With the inspiration of Mahant Digvijaynath, primary school to degree college is being run at Chowk Bazar and now a stadium is also being constructed, said the CM.
The CM said that the president of Papua New Guinea touched the feet of PM Narendra Modi while US president wishes to take his autograph, showing the popularity of the PM.
