On Tuesday, the Union Public Service Commission declared its Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2022 results. The results reflected the outstanding achievement of female candidates with all the top four positions secured by women.

Ishita Kishore, a resident of Greater Noida topped the position, who is now all across the news for her remarkable achievement.

With Kishore’s story doing circles across internet, there’s the story of another ranker which would serve as an inspiration for lakhs of individuals dreaming to be in a position where candidates like Kishore have reached today.

The second position was bagged by Garima Lohiya from Bihar who fulfilled her father’s dream who died 8 years ago.  

Garima Lohiya is a resident of Buxar Nagar’s Bangla Ghat. She did her schooling from Woodstock School, Buxar and completed her senior secondary education from Sunbeam, Bhagwanpur.

For further studies, Lohiya moved to Delhi, she obtained her graduation degree from Kirodimal college, Delhi University with Commerce and Accountancy as her optional subjects.
Lohiya while speaking to APN said, she returned back to Buxar during the Covid-19 pandemic period and didn’t return back and started her preparations to pursue the dream of becoming an IAS officer.  

Lohiya who had set her mind to clear the attempt, did all her preparations sitting at home taking the help of Youtube and other sources.

Confident Garima said she knew she would pass the examination but did not expected of securing the 2^nd position.

Garima said his father Manoj Lohiya had dreamt of seeing her as an IAS officer but sadly he passed away in 2015.

Pained by father’s demise, Garima broke down but her mother Sunita Lohiya stood with her as the pillar of strength who didn’t let Garima’s dreams scatter away and equally contributed in helping Garima pursue the late father’s dream.

Garima shared her mother acted as a big source of motivation and inspiration for her during her journey.

For the preparations Garima went through many sleepless nights and so do her mother who used to sit with her all night.

She added her mother took care of every minute details of  her needs to ensure no hamper to her preparations in this journey.

It is because of this sheer dedication and hard work, Garima and many others like her have secured such ranks today and they can now walk with their head held high.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will seek the support of like-minded political parties to counter the BJP-led Central government’s “dictatorial” ordinance on the control of services in Delhi, Punjab Chief Minister and senior AAP leader Bhagwant Mann said on Tuesday.

Talking to newsmen in Chandigarh after flagging off 98 emergency response vehicles for the Punjab Police, Bhagwant Mann accused the Centre of trying to infringe upon the rights of individual states and claimed that by promulgating a “dictatorial” ordinance it wants to supress the duly-elected government in Delhui.

Mann said that AAP will seek support from political parties across the country in a bid to stall the ordinance in the Rajya Sabha.

On Friday, the Central government promulgated an Ordinance to form a National Capital Civil Service Authority to handle the transfers of IAS and DANICS cadre officers and also matters of disciplinary proceedings against them.

The BJP-led Centre’s ordinance essentially circumvented last week’s Supreme Court order which gave the control over services, excluding those related to police, public order, and land, to the elected government in Delhi.

On Monday, the AAP asked all non-BJP parties to unite and help defeat the bill in the Upper House of the Parliament.

Terming it “agni pariksha” (trial by fire), the AAP urged all Opposition parties to come together and to save the country’s democracy and Constitution.

On May 11, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led dispensation, stating that the AAP regime has legislative and executive power over services— including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), except law and order, police and land—and the Lieutenant Governor (L-G) is duty-bound to comply with the elected government’s decision in this matter.

The Delhi government scored a major victory today in its arduous power-struggle with the BJP-ruled Centre as the Supreme Court ruled in favour of the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led dispensation, stating that the AAP regime has legislative and executive power over services— including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), except law and order, police and land—and the Lieutenant Governor (L-G) is duty-bound to comply with the elected government’s decision in this matter.

In a unanimous verdict, a five-judge Constitution bench of the Apex court which comprises of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud along with Justices MR Shah, Krishna Murari, Hima Kohli and P S Narasimha, ruled that the Delhi government must have control over services and the Lieutenant Governor is bound by its decision.

The bench observed that the Union Territory of Delhi has ‘sui generis’ (unique) character and has legislative and executive power over services and stated that if a democratically elected government’s responsibility towards the legislature and the electorate becomes diluted if it was denied control over its officers and the power to hold them to account.

In a shocking incident, a seven-year-old boy allegedly tried to rape a three-year-old girl after enticing her with a bicycle ride in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, police said on Tuesday.

According to reports, the incident happened in Kanpur’s Chakeri area when the boy reportedly enticed the 3-year-old girl by offering her a ride on his bicycle and lured her near a drain where he allegedly attempted to rape her.

The girl cried for help, alerting locals who rushed to her rescue forcing the boy to flee the spot.

They found that the boy had also cut the girl with a sharp-edged blade.

A senior police official said that the villagers then informed the girl’s parents and she was rushed to a hospital for treatment and later shifted to the housing nursing home.

The girl’s family claimed that the boy had also cut her with a blade.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Chakeri, Amar Nath Yadav said that a minor boy took a 3-year-old girl from Double Colony near a drain where he tried to rape her.

The officer said that girl was later admitted to a hospital where her condition is stated to be stable, adding that legal action is being initiated.

In a similar incident, a Class 1 student allegedly raped a three-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district last month, following which the 10-year-old was detained by the police.

The girl’s family filed a police complaint with the Muzaffarnagar Police Station stating that the boy took her to the roof of the school and allegedly raped her.

Earlier, a 12-year-old boy was detained Madhya Pradesh’s Indore after he allegedly raped a 3-year-old girl from his neighbourhood.

Reports at the time said the father of the accused minor boy was also booked by the cops for allegedly warning the victim’s family of dire consequences if they filed a complaint against his son.

Police said the boy lured the 3-year-old with chocolates, took her to his house and allegedly raped her.
