Arvind Kejriwal objected to the way the leader was handled by the police personnel and asked if they are following orders from someone

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday shared a video which showed Delhi Police surrounding the AAP leader Manish Sisodia when media persons tried asking him questions in the Rouse Avenue court of the national capital. Arvind Kejriwal objected to the way the leader was handled by the police personnel and asked if they are following orders from someone.

“Does the police have the right to misbehave with Manish ji like this? Has the police been asked from above to do this?," Arvind Kejriwal retweeted the video shared by AAP MLA Atishi who also raised objections on the "misbehavior" by the police.

Delhi Police also gave their clarification on the video shared by the Chief Minister and said that the accusations of misbehavior is "propaganda" and the response in the video was imperative from security point of view.

“The talk of police misbehavior with Mr. Manish Sisodia at the time of production in Rouse Avenue Court is propaganda. The police response publicized in the video was imperative from a security point of view. It is against the law to issue statements to the media by the accused in judicial custody," Delhi Police said in a tweet.

Even while he was being taken away by the police, Manish Sisodia accused the Central-led BJP government with respect to the transfer of bureaucrats in Delhi. "Modi ji has become so arrogant he neither follows democracy...looking at Kejriwal ji's work...he has become arrogant...," the former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi said.

Meanwhile, the Rouse Avenue court in Delhi extended Manish Sisodia's judicial custody by 1 June. Special Judge M K Nagpal pronounced the order and also directed the jail Superintendent to consider his request to provide him chair and table for study purposes.

Manish Sisodia was arrested by CBI and ED in a case related to alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of the excise policy of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
