Yaduveer offers puja at Maddur temple
Mandya: Scion of Mysuru royal family Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar on Monday visited the 800-year-old Sri Veerabhadreshwara Temple at Kadukottanahalli in Maddur and offered Dwara Puja at the temple, which is up for renovation.
The renovation works are being taken up by the villagers at the place where the old temple was located. Yaduveer inaugurated the works by offering puja to the newly installed door outside the temple.
Speaking on the occasion, Yaduveer appreciated the works being taken up by the villagers and also took the opportunity to create awareness on the need to conserve old temples which were a symbol of our culture and tradition. He also urged villagers to ensure plastic materials are not used both inside and outside the temple premises.
In a brief interaction with reporters, Yaduveer said he was not interested to enter politics as he preferred to continue with the tradition of the Mysuru Palace and involve himself in social work.
