Following were the winners under the ‘People For Good’ category:
Sia Godika – The Bengaluru teen began ‘Sole Warriors’ to offer hope and comfort to the underprivileged communities in society, one shoe at a time.
Urmila Asher (Gujju Ben) - At the age of 75, this matriarch started an extraordinary professional culinary journey of pickles and varied Gujarati snacks and inspired people through her sheer hard work and perseverance.
Aabid Surti - Every Sunday, without any charges, under the monicker of ‘One-Man NGO’ Aabid Surti, along with a plumber and a volunteer, fixes Mumbai’s drippy taps. It is an attempt to conserve water and promote responsible water usage.
Purnota Bahl - She quit her job to begin the Cuddles Foundation, which uses holistic nutrition to aid children in their fight against cancer.
Dr Madhumitha Gomathinayagam - India’s first transgender HR professional who is also a social activist helping children, trans community and older people for nearly 22 years now. Prolific work has also been done by her in terms of tree plantation, scribing for visually-challenged kids, and cleaning up beaches, forests and water bodies etc.
Manvi Tiwari - A mental health activist who has also been one of the youngest speakers at the World Health Summit held in Berlin, Germany.
Ajinkya Dhariya - The brain behind PadCare - an automated sanitary napkin processing and recycling system.
Speaking about the idea of goodness, Ghazal Alagh, Co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer, said, “Mamaearth was crafted with the purpose of goodness inside that translates in acts and deeds that go beyond products. Under the ‘Creators for Good’ category, the following creators were appreciated for the way they have leveraged their influence to bring about a transformation in society.
Aakash Ranison – The climate optimist
Shaheen Bhatt – She has been vocal about the changing mental health dialogue
Gurmeet Choudhary and& Debina Bonnerjee – The power duo making a difference
Anurag Dobhal (UK7 Rider) – The man driving the wheels of change
Dr Ankur Sarin and Dr Jushya Sarin – The doctors are making an impactful difference offline and online
YouTuber and commercial pilot Gaurav Taneja, aka Flying Beast, along with his wife Ritu Rathee Taneja) – Soaring high for social activism
The glam quotient of the night was also soaring high with celebrities also being recognised for all the good they do:
Rani Mukerji bagged the award for ‘Trailblazer of the Decade.’
Vicky Kaushal received the award for ‘Man of the Year.’
Vidya Balan was recognised for ‘Outstanding Talent (Female)’.
Rajkummar Rao was awarded for ‘Outstanding Talent (Male)’.
Sonu Sood was given the ‘Humanitarian of the Year’ award.
Sania Mirza won the award for ‘Inspiration for a Generation’.
Aditya Roy Kapur achieved the ‘Standout Performer of the Year (Male)’ award.
