Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:04AM

Adani Wilmar(up 6.39%), ADF Foods(up 5.76%), Vadilal Industries(up 1.69%), Britannia Industries(up 1.66%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 1.40%), Prataap Snacks(up 1.17%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 1.13%), Bikaji Foods International(up 0.96%), Sheetal Cool Products(up 0.79%) and Heritage Foods(up 0.78%) were among the top gainers.

Nakoda Group(down 3.67%), Varun Beverages(down 2.01%), Dangee Dums(down 1.16%), Patanjali Foods(down 0.79%), Gillette India(down 0.35%), Hindustan Foods(down 0.31%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.29%), Umang Dairies(down 0.26%), Dodla Dairy(down 0.22%) and Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 0.04%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 75.15 points up at 18389.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 208.89 points at 62172.57 at around 10:04AM.

Adani Enterprises(up 12.16%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 3.05%), Divis Laboratories(up 2.24%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.83%), Britannia Industries(up 1.62%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.03%), Infosys(up 1.02%), UPL Ltd(up 0.92%), Asian Paints(up 0.89%) and Wipro(up 0.78%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Grasim Industries(down 1.57%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.66%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.58%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.54%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.43%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.33%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.31%), Larsen & Toubro(down 0.26%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.17%) and Bharti Airtel(down 0.07%) were trading in the red.
