Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.71% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 09:59AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Infosys(up 1.23 per cent), MPhasis(up 1.09 per cent), Wipro(up 0.69 per cent), HCL Technologies(up 0.67 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(up 0.6 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Coforge(down 0.16 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.71 per cent at 29213.15 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 80.45 points at 18394.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 208.54 points at 62172.22.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Adani Ports SEZ, Vodafone Idea, Zomato and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Aurionpro Sol, Servotech Power Syst, Jai Balaji Inds, Hilton Metal and Marshall Machines hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Power & Instrument, Jet Airways, SEL Manufact, Aditya Birla Retail and Lyka Labs hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
