TN man murders son during drunken brawl
MADURAI: A man and his relative murdered his 27-year-old son during a drunken brawl near Melur in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday night. They murdered him by tying up his hands and legs and throwing him into a well.
The deceased has been identified as P Subaiah alias Rajaprabhu alias Kandadevan of Kottakudi. Subaiah was an alcoholic and had disputes with his father, M Perumal alias Ravi, 55.
On Sunday night, Subaiah drank liquor with his father and another relative, A Thangam alias Ponnaiyan, 32. A heated argument broke out between the father and the son.
Perumal, with the help of Thangam, tied up Subaiah’s hands and legs with cloths and threw him into a well on his farm.
On Monday, Perumal told villagers about the murder. The villagers alerted police. Fire and rescue services personnel recovered Subaiah’s body from the well. The body was sent for postmortem.
The Melur police registered a case and arrested Perumal and Thangam. The police said Subaiah was an accused in a criminal case.
