NAGPUR: Six vehicles, including two four-wheelers, were gutted in a mysterious fire that broke out in the parking lot of Suyog Society, near Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir School in Trimurti Nagar at 3am on Tuesday. The fire personnel from Trimurti Nagar and Narendra Nagar extinguished the flames around 3.45am, by then six vehicles were gutted. The loss is estimated at Rs 5 lakh.
However, no person sustained injuries in the fire incident, said fire officials. Preliminary inspection suggests that the fire broke out following a short circuit. It then quickly spread to the parking area, engulfing the vehicles including three vehicles (one swift desire, two 2-wheelers--owned by Sudhir Wase) and other three vehicles owned by Manoj Thote (Maruti Suzuki), Vishal Meshram (Splendor motorcycle) and Sudhir Sawarkar (Kawasaki motorcycle).
"We received the call at around 3.25am and soon a fire tender each from Trimurti Nagar and Narendra Nagar fire stations were pressed into the service,” they said. After reaching there, fire personnel managed to spray water and brought the fire under control and confined it to parking lot, officials added.
