IPL playoffs: No free rides on metro

CHENNAI: Fans watching IPL playoffs at Chepauk stadium cannot use their match tickets to travel on metro trains as these matches are being directly organised by the BCCI.
CMRL had tied up with CSK for the league matches which let fans use IPL tickets as travel tickets on metro trains.
For the playoffs on May 23 and 24, fans can instead purchase tickets through digital modes like WhatsApp ticketing by texting 8300086000, static QR or through CMRL mobile app for both ways at a time as ticket counters may not be open after 11pm. On May 23 and 24, metro train services will be available till 1am for fans to return home after the matches. Passengers returning from Government Estate Metro (blue line) can switch corridors only at Central station to their destination on the green line.
