100kg marijuana pods found

Surat: Nearly 100kg marijuana pods worth Rs 10 lakh were found concealed in a tank of a dilapidated public toilet in the Katargam area on Monday.
Katargam's head constable got an anonymous letter informing about the contraband. On reaching the spot, cops found marijuana in 50 packets inside a water tank of a pay-and-use toilet near a railway track in Gunatitnagar locality.
The plants were covered with tiles.
Singanpore police inspector Sahdevsinh Padheriya, who has been handed over the probe, said they are trying to trace the traffickers.
Forensic experts called to the spot and confirmed that it was marijuana.
In September last year, Katargam police had seized marijuana worth Rs 30 lakh from the Utkalnagar area and arrested two persons who had brought it from Orissa.
