She said, "Big Brother India, which is called bigg boss, called and said we want you to be on the show and I told my then boyfriend and now husband Daniel Weber, 'You have lost your mind. I'm not going to India. They'll hate me.' Because I've already gone through so much hatred within that community. At that moment I said 'No, you're out of your mind. I'm not doing this.' '

However, she added that the makers of bigg boss were very serious about her coming on the show and were persistent, which is why she said yes. Sunny said, "And I went on the show and as each week passed, I felt that something good was happening." However, he added that just before he got on the show, there were a lot of roadblocks and that there were 'death threats and bomb threats'. She said that she was in bigg boss for about 7 weeks, and was offered a film in the show. She said that after her stint in bigg boss people associated her as a person and disconnected with sunny leone from the adult entertainment industry.

She further added, “When I came out of the show, I think people related to me being human and not jumping on tables and doing all kinds of crazy stuff and they associated me with being the person who used to eat in the kitchen. Making, cleaning, being a part of the show, seeing the everyday life and that's what they are connected to. What happened is that people got attached to that girl in bigg boss and the adult entertainment industry distanced itself from Sunny Leone."
