Centre aims to bring bill to link birth, death data with electoral rolls

Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the government intends to introduce a bill in Parliament, aiming to connect birth and death data with electoral rolls. During the inauguration of the 'Janganana Bhawan', the establishment housing the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, Mr. Shah emphasized the significance of the census as a potential foundation for the development agenda. He further highlighted the numerous advantages of having digital, comprehensive, and precise census data, stating that planning based on this data guarantees that development efforts reach the most marginalized sections of society.
