NOIDA: A city resident has been accused of assaulting a four-year-old dog sexually. An animal feeder recorded a video of the alleged crime and uploaded it on social media, causing an unrest among users.
Kaveri Rana Bhardwaj, an animal activist, subsequently lodged a police complaint against the man. “A girl from Sector 12, who feeds stray dogs in the area, has been watching this man doing odd things with the animal. One day, she recorded a video of him in the act,” she added. Bhardwaj said she had asked police to lodge an FIR.
Police, however, said they had called the man for questioning, but couldn’t find any evidence against him. They said the man was feeding and taking care of the dog ever since was born.
“We have seen the video, but it doesn’t prove that the man assaulted the dog sexually. We questioned the man on Saturday night. He said he had been taking care of the dog since the time she was born. If we find more evidence against him, we will investigate them,” said Shakti Mohan Avasthy, the additional DCP.
Bhardwaj said she would soon produce medical reports. “I have a medical report, but it should have been done by the police. We will now move court with the report,” she added.
