Nitish Kumar meets Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul to plan roadmap for opposition unity

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a meeting with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and party leader Rahul Gandhi, marking the second such meeting within the past one and a half months. These meetings are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen opposition unity in preparation for the 2024 general elections, with the aim of effectively countering the BJP. The meeting between Kumar, Kharge, and Gandhi took place at the residence of the Congress chief in New Delhi. Sources indicate that discussions during the meeting revolved around the roadmap for enhancing opposition unity and the possibility of organising a meeting of opposition leaders in Patna. In attendance at the meeting were Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal and JD(U) Chief Lalan Singh. This gathering followed a call for opposition unity against the BJP made by Nitish Kumar and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal the day before.
