MARIPEDA: A stray dog went on a biting spree, spreading panic and attacking as many as 14 people in Anepur village in Maripeda mandal of Mahabubabad district on Sunday morning. The animal has not been nabbed yet.
Those bitten include children and senior citizens. They were taken to Mahabubabad government hospital for treatment. Hospital superintendent Dr B Srinivas Rao said that only five persons are admitted and the remaining injured are discharged after giving rabies vaccine.
The harrowing experience made the villagers not to leave children outside their homes. After the incident, the panicked villagers called the elected representative of the gram panchayat. However, there has been no response from them.
