Canopy Growth files revised SEC proxy statement on US market entry

• Canadian cannabis company Canopy Growth Corp. (NASDAQ:CGC) has filed a revised proxy statement with the SEC that is designed to facilitate its planned entry into the US market.
• The most significant modification is that Canopy (CGC) has changed the structure of its interest in Canopy USA so that it will not have to consolidate the financial results of Canopy USA with the company's financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles in the US.
• Canopy (CGC) made the move to ensure continued compliance with Nasdaq listing requirements.
• In October 2022, Canopy (CGC) announced it would acquire multi-state operator Acreage Holdings (OTCQX:ACRHF) to gain a foothold in the US and create a US holding company, Canopy USA, as a result.
