‘Union minister must walk through Panaji’

Panaji: Congress on Monday urged Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri to conduct a walk-through in Panaji to review the work.
“We have come to know that the Union minister has come to take a review of Smart City projects. I hope that he will not sit in air-conditioned rooms and take meetings, but instead will come out and have ‘padyatra’ in Panaji to take a real review,” Congress media cell chairman Amarnath Panjikar said.
Congress, who insists that the Smart City Mission has become a conduit for corruption, said that a review and Puri’s intervention could take to task officials involved in corruption and sub-standard works.
Congress functionary Elvis Gomes said the Smart City projects have been taken up in an unplanned manner.
