Two Senior Appointments at Mandarin Oriental

(17/05/23)  Mandarin Oriental has appointed Amanda Hyndman as Chief People Officer and Francesco Cefalú as Chief Development Officer.

With a career that spans over 30 years in the luxury hospitality industry, Amanda Hyndman joined Mandarin Oriental in 2007 and has held several senior management roles in the UK, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Washington DC.

Her impressive contribution to the success of the group led to her appointment as Group Director of Quality & Rooms in 2020.

In her new role as Chief People Officer, Amanda will oversee the development of Human Resources strategies that support the growth of the brand and colleague career development.

"Both have made outstanding contributions to the success of the group and I am confident that they will continue to lead their teams with passion and dedication, helping us achieve our ambitious growth plans for the future."

Francesco Cefalú joined the company in 2016 as Regional Development Director for EMEA.

With Mandarin Oriental he has thus far led the development strategy in EMEA, resulting in several successful agreements, including Lake Como, Muscat, Kuwait, Zurich, Tel Aviv, Vienna and Cortina.

In his new role as Chief Development Officer, Francesco will be responsible for overseeing the development of the Group's pipeline of hotels and residences worldwide.

The two appointments reflect the company's commitment to promoting and nurturing talent from within its ranks.
