The Coimbatore city cybercrime police on Sunday registered a case against nine twitter handles for spreading rumoursabout some hotels run by Muslims waging a ‘biryani jihad’. Thamaraikannan, sub-inspector, lodged a complaint saying hechecked twitter messages randomly and found a message saying some hotels in Coimbatore were serving biryani mixed with contraceptive pills, that would affect hormones and make people impotent, to Hindus, and normal biryani to Muslims.
