Tuticorin police firing: Why Stalin not taking action against officers, Dhinakaran asks

CHENNAI: AMMK founder T T V Dhinakaran on Monday questioned the silence of Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on the Tuticorin anti-Sterlite firing incident. In a tweet, Dhinakaran asked Stalin why action had not been initiated despite the Aruna Jagadeesan commission submitting its report.
"The commission submitted its report a year ago. No action has been initiated on the recommendations of the commission. Stalin said stringent action would be taken against those who issued the order to open fire and against those who implemented it. But why is he (Stalin) hesitant to take action?" asked Dhinakaran.
On the fifth anniversary of police firing against anti-Sterlite protesters which claimed 13 lives, Dhinakaran said taking action against those responsible for the incident would be the right way to pay tributes to those who lost their lives in the protest.
