HYDERABAD: A delivery boy of an e-commerce company fell from the third floor of an apartment after he panicked on seeing the customer's barking dog at the door in Panchavati Colony, Manikonda, on Sunday.
He was rushed to a hospital by the customer along with a few others in the apartment and he is now out of danger. In January, a similar incident took place in Banjara Hill where a food delivery boy died after jumping off the third floor on seeing the customer's dog racing towards the door.
On Sunday afternoon, Illiyas (30) had gone to deliver a mattress and took the lift to the third floor.
The customer's door was ajar and when he moved the mattress to the side, the dog began to bark. He panicked and got on to the railings, police said. On seeing him dangling from the railings, the customer rushed to his rescue. But despite her efforts to pull him up, Illiyas slipped and fell to the ground.
The woman customer and a few others in the building took him to a private hospital. Illiyas suffered multiple injuries, but is out danger, police said.
Though nobody from the apartment or the victim made a police complaint, the incident reached the cops after the news spread locally.
A police patrolling team arrived at the apartment to inquire and later took a statement from Illiyas' family. Police are in the process of filing a case.
