Congress felicitates newly elected MLAs
Mysuru: Four elected MLAs including three first-timers and MLC D Thimmaiah were felicitated by members of the Congress city and rural district units, at the party office near city railway station here on Sunday. The MLAS were brought in a procession to the venue.
As part of the anti-terrorism day, the leaders offered floral tributes to the portrait of slain former PM Rajiv Gandhi. Speaking on the occasion, party rural district unit president BJ Vijaya Kumar recalled the party's struggle in the district and called upon the leaders to work for the betterment of society.
Newly elected Chamaraja MLA K Harish Gowda, Nanjangud MLA Darshan Dhruvanarayan, and KR Nagar MLA D Ravishankar and second-time MLA Anil Kumar from HD Kote were felicitated. The new MLAs assured that they will work hard towards the overall development of their constituencies.
First time MLA Darshan Dhruvanarayan told the media that he still remembers the sacrifices made by his father and mother who passed away just a few weeks before the election. He said he would continue the legacy of his father. Party city district unit president R Murthy, and others were present.
