Australia Shares Poised for Uncertain Start

2242 ET – Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 looks set for an uncertain start amid a mixed lead from U.S. equities. ASX futures are up by less than 0.1%, suggesting a lack of conviction from traders following the benchmark index’s week-opening 0.2% slip. U.S. stocks traded mixed in a tight range and bond yields rose while traders awaited news from debt-ceiling negotiations. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite rose 0.5% to a new 2023 high, the S&P 500 was flat, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 0.4%. Ahead of the ASX open, Technology One lifted 1H profit 24%.
