Metro installs cell towers, to earn Rs 120 crore
The first 12 pillars have been allotted to Indus Towers, a leading telecom infrastructure provider
MUMBAI: Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd has taken an important step towards enhancing communication services for its commuters by installing small and microcell telecom towers on the Mumbai metro's pillars, which will help it earn Rs 120 crore over 10 years.
The first 12 pillars have been allotted to Indus Towers, a leading telecom infrastructure provider. MMOCL is expected to earn non-fare box revenue of approximately Rs1 crore.
Maha Mumbai Metro has been able to generate non-fare box revenue of Rs1,500 crore for 15 years, and this initiative is expected to add to revenue.
