Saamna attacks Fadnavis over SIT for Trimbakeshwar incident

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) on Friday hit out at deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis over his decision to set up a special investigation team (SIT) to probe an incident of a group of people from a different religion allegedly trying to enter the famous Trimbakeshwar temple in Nashik. Fadnavis hold the home portfolio.
In an editorial, party mouthpiece Saamna said the decision was taken in haste though there was no demand for an SIT from anyone. "Investigation of what did not happen in Trimbakeshwar? It is more serious that the home minister of the state should do all this in haste. If you want to investigate, do it with the sub-contractors of Hindutva who carry barrels of cow urine and run chaos in Trimbakeshwar," it added.
"BJP thinks they are the only contractors of Hindutva in the world. But seeing how these self-proclaimed contractors have created a raucous ruckus in the name of Hindutva by appointing sub-contractors under them, both Veer Savarkar and Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray must be cursing BJP," the editorial said.
