RANCHI: The district police have stepped up vigil in Ranchi in view of President Droupadi Murmu’s three-day visit to the state from May 24 to 26.
The President would arrive at Deoghar on May 24 where she would offer prayers at Baidyanath Dham temple. She would reach Ranchi later in the day and inaugurate the new high court building at Dhurwa. She would spend the night at Raj Bhavan and attend a function in Khunti on May 25 morning and later in the day preside over the second convocation of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) at Namkum. She would return on May 26.
Police said deployment of forces at the venues has already been done and the antecedents of workers and the tent house personnel engaged in the preparations are being ascertained. Police have also deployed personnel in civvies at various places of the city to gather intelligence.
Moreover, the anti-crime checking and inspection of hotels and lodges in the city are underway to detect any suspiciouas activity or movement of anti-social elements. All police stations have been directed to activate the check posts in their areas.
Ranchi SSP Kishor Kaushal stated, “The security arrangement would be done according to the standard protocol.”
He added, “The routes of the visiting dignitaries are being sanitized. High-rise buildings along the routes are being identified for deployment of forces. Houses along the routes will also be checked.”
It may be stated here that the Raj Bhavan, the new high court building and the IIIT would be declared as no-drone zone soon.
