Jai Vidarbha Party to tie up with like-minded outfits for NMC polls
Nagpur: The Jai Vidarbha Party has decided to forge an alliance with like-minded parties for the upcoming Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) elections. It was decided during a review meeting held under national president Arun Kedar. The outfit, which was formed in 2021, would take a plunge in electoral politics with an objective to fight for Vidarbha’s statehood.
Kedar told the workers the party was gearing up to contest the civic polls whenever they are held. “We will launch our official manifesto and form a coalition with other outfits who support our objectives. The final decision would be taken by our election committee,” he said.
Discussions were primarily held on how to contest the polls, how to expand the party base and increase the number of activists. The leaders and workers were told to add more members to the party fold by convincing them about their aims and objectives.
City president Prabhakar Kondbattunwar pointed out that the civic body splurged ₹140 crore on G20 meet, but failed to provide 24x7 drinking water and sanitation facilities.
