Out of all the G20 meetings under the Indian presidency, the meeting in Jammu and Kashmir is probably one of the most looked upon ones. Given the recent past and situation of the Valley, the G20 meeting is a fine opportunity for India to show the Union Territory’s improved conditions. Looking forward to its success, J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha dubbed the possibility of its success as a potential message for the world. “I would like to congratulate the people of Kashmir. Srinagar has been established near several water bodies. A lot of things are dependent on water. The Smart City project has created an international-level spot here in J&K. There are many provisions being done here and more will be built. This will also boost the economy. The administration and the people of the valley are contributing to the preparations ahead of G20. The success of this will send a message to the whole world. This message will aid in increasing tourism and investment in J&K. I am also thankful towards PM Modi,” Sinha said. J&K is scheduled to host a G20 meeting of the working group on tourism from May 22 to 24. India is holding several G20 meetings under its presidency, with the Summit scheduled for September.
