HYDERABAD: After making forays into Maharashtra where it tasted good success with several joinings of leaders from other parties, Bharat Rashtra Samithi will now expand its footprint in Punjab, Haryana and northern states.
Stating this, BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao said change in the country's fortunes should begin from Maharashtra. He reiterated that bringing a qualitative change in the lives of the people is his lifetime mission and vowed to continue his fight to bring the change in the country.
"Telangana's development model will be replicated in the entire country," KCR said in Nanded while addressing BRS workers' four-day training camp, which began on Friday. He said party unit offices will be opened in Aurangabad, Nagpur, Pune and Mumbai. KCR said though India is blessed with abundant water resources, several states like Maharashtra and even the national capital Delhi are facing severe drinking water crisis. Farmers in Maharashtra are taking their own lives due to shortage of water resources, which impacted their crops. He said Godavari and Krishna originate from Maharashtra but there is water crisis in the state.
The CM asked the party workers to create awareness among the people on the need for development of the country and BRS development agenda.
"Tabs and new gadgets will be given to every leader and active party worker. Teams will be provided training and committees will be formed in every village. We will have a social media in-charge in every village. The workers will also be provided publicity material such as party flags to hoist in every village, caps printed with 'Ab ki baar kisan sarkar' slogans, stickers, buntings and posters," KCR said.
The CM said vehicles will be provided to campaign in every village and asked the workers to cover five villages every day. He said the party got theme-based songs on various civic issues ready which will be released every month. While welcoming AAP social media incharge of Maharashtra also jinto oined BRS, the Telangana CM said Congress party's victory in Karnataka won't have any impact on other states.
Criticising MLAs and MPs in various states for not showing commitment on developing the country, he said Telangana had also suffered due to lack of commitment on development. He is said BRS is committed to installing a 'pro-farmer' government in every state.
"Today, Telangana has set an example in many areas. It has surpassed Punjab in paddy cultivation and opened 7,000 procurement centres to procure paddy directly from farmers and the amount is released in their bank accounts directly. The BRS government removed 'talari system' in Telangana and revenue records have been digitalised. Farmers have been getting Rs 10,000 per acre under Rythu Bandhu scheme. We have introduced Rythu Bima scheme," he explained.
People in Maharashtra should introspect and reason why all this is not possible in their state, he said.
