Man held for raping minor stepdaughter

Ludhiana: Police arrested a man for raping his minor stepdaughter. The accused is around 30-year-old and works as a migrant worker. Mother of the 16-year-old girl said that she married the accused after her first husband left her.
She said that her minor daughter also lived with them. She added that her daughter told her that her stepfather often intimidated her and raped her when she was alone at home. At this, she said she lodged a police complaint.
Police booked the accused under sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused was arrested on Wednesday.
On March 21, 2023 police booked a person for allegedly raping his 9-year-old stepdaughter and on December 3, 2022, police arrested a person for allegedly raping his 11-year-old daughter.
